Before relying on the result
Check the inputs that can change your score.
Sources reviewed September 27, 2026. If a factor is uncertain, check the official wording before selecting the answer that gives more points.
Use the right age
If you are planning to create an Express Entry profile, use your current age. If you have already received an invitation to apply, use your age on the date you were invited.
Use education IRCC can recognize
For education completed outside Canada, use the level supported by a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). IRCC says the ECA must be from an approved organization and less than five years old when it is used for Express Entry.
Check Canadian-study bonus rules
A Canadian credential does not automatically receive the 15- or 30-point bonus. The school, study location, full-time study, physical-presence and other conditions must fit the CRS rules, subject to the stated COVID-period exceptions.
Use valid language results
Express Entry uses approved English or French tests. The results you enter should still be less than two years old. That matters for your own first and second official language results and any spouse language results you use.
Count work experience carefully
For the CRS questionnaire, Canadian skilled work must be paid full-time work or an equivalent amount of part-time work, performed while you were physically in Canada for a Canadian employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 job. Use the official calculator wording when deciding what foreign work to count.
Do not treat every extra factor as CRS points
Job offers stopped adding CRS points on March 25, 2025. A provincial nomination can add 600 points, while sibling points require the relationship, age, residence and citizenship or permanent-resident conditions set by IRCC.

Common questions
CRS calculator questions
How is an Express Entry CRS score calculated?
IRCC scores an eligible Express Entry profile out of 1,200 points. The CRS includes core or human-capital factors, spouse or common-law partner factors when applicable, skill-transferability factors and additional points such as a provincial nomination, eligible Canadian education, French-language ability or an eligible sibling in Canada.
Does a CRS score confirm that I am eligible for Express Entry?
No. Program eligibility and CRS ranking are separate. You must first qualify for at least one Express Entry program before a CRS score can be used to rank your profile in the pool.
Which age should I enter?
If you are checking a possible future Express Entry profile, use your current age. If you already received an invitation to apply, use your age on the date of that invitation. This can matter if your birthday occurred after the invitation.
Is there one permanent CRS cut-off score?
No. Cut-off scores change by invitation round, and different round types may target different programs or categories. Check the official rounds page for current and historical information.
Do valid job offers still add CRS points?
No. Job-offer CRS points were removed on March 25, 2025. A qualifying job offer may still matter for eligibility under some programs or provincial streams, so it should still be reported accurately.
What counts as Canadian work experience for the CRS questionnaire?
IRCC's current CRS calculator asks for skilled work in Canada from the last 10 years that was paid and full-time, or an equal amount of part-time work. You must have been physically in Canada and working for a Canadian employer, including when the work itself was remote, and the job must be in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3.
What happens if this estimate differs from IRCC?
The score in the official Express Entry electronic system governs. Use this calculator for general guidance and confirm the result using the official IRCC calculator and CRS criteria.
Can I save or share my result?
Yes. After calculating, use Copy results for a text summary or Print or save PDF for a printable breakdown. Your browser may require you to turn off Headers and footers for a cleaner PDF.
CRS ranks an Express Entry profile; it does not decide whether you qualify for an Express Entry program and it does not predict whether you will receive an invitation. CADLEAF is an independent information website, this calculator is not an official Government of Canada tool, and it does not make an immigration decision. The official Express Entry system and IRCC rules govern.
